I used to fish with my parents then brother, focusing on natural venues; canals, rivers and lakes etc. Then began fishing for a local club. This moved on to fishing for Thatcher’s, which at the time was the best team in the south west of England. In the early 90’s when fishing canals and rivers, also became acquainted with commercial fisheries. On the way, picked up more experience in most disciplines.

I've been successfully match fishing for over 30 years, the first 10 of that were mostly on rivers and canals and some still waters before moving onto commercials in the late 80s. Since then I've fished commercials exclusively and never looked back!

My background in match fishing is based primarily around silver fish on rivers and canals, as I believe these venues breed a proper knowledge of watercraft something which is lost on a lot of commercials.

I was very lucky as a child as I only lived a stones throw away from a local canal so my introduction to fishing came naturally. I learnt so much about watercraft and natural waters in those early years, and luckily had some great coaches to steer me in the right path. This has put me in a great position for my fishing in later life.
